Meira was born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. From her childhood on, Meira always had a passion for meeting new people and experiencing new cultures. Her love of travel encouraged her to spend three and a half months backpacking across Europe after graduating with a BCOM in Politics, Philosophy, an Economics Undergraduate and an Economics Science Postgraduate. Meira  interned at a startup in Tel Aviv, where she now lives.

Meira runs a fashion, travel and lifestyle blog called Trashcan Rebellion. What started off as a personal hobby now attracts and inspires hundreds of international readers.

Meira is an active member of Chabad on The Coast Tel Aviv—the local branch of Chabad Young Professionals. In addition to attending weekly services, she helps organize and manage the major events as well as the annual fundraiser. This work has allowed her to contribute to the building of a safe space for Jewish expats in Tel Aviv, not only in terms of religion but communal support as well.
