Danit Zivan

Co-Founder & Chief Operations Officer, Bark Buildings | Tech Startup

Jersey City, NJ

Danit was born in Petah Tikva, Israel, and immigrated to South Florida at the age of 3 like many other Israeli families in pursuit of the American Dream. Her family's first decade spent in the United States came with many hardships , but would help shape her perspective on life and taught her the value of hard work.

Danit took advantage of ample volunteer opportunities throughout high school, heading up the school's Best Buddies Program and English Honor Society, and coordinating multiple blood drives over the years. Danit attended Emerson College and graduated early with a double major in Marketing Communications and TV/Video.

Over the next 10 years of her life, Danit lived in Los Angeles and held a number of key positions heading up marketing campaigns and experiential programs for major brands. She also continued her passion for volunteer work, lending a hand to a number of programs that improved the quality of life for residents at teen shelters and for adults with developmental disabilities.

In 2016, alongside her brother Devir, Danit launched Bark Buildings. Bark Buildings aims to redefine "dog friendly" by creating in-house pet care amenity programs that help residential buildings attract and retain pet owners more effectively. Beyond standard pet care, the company’s ultimate goals are to build community between residents, reduce stress for resident dogs, and help make it easier for people to own dogs within city apartments.
